Drawn from a single Ex-Rum American Oak Cask with a rum seasoned past, Cask No. HB18 is a Tasmanian single malt shaped by sweetness, balance and quiet complexity. Reserved exclusively for our cellar door, this release offers a more playful expression of American oak influence while retaining a refined, polished character.
On the nose, soft waves of creaming soda rise first, sweet, effervescent and nostalgic, folding into rich vanilla bean and warm toffee. A bright lift of citrus zest brings freshness and energy, cutting through the sweetness with ease.
The palate is silky and rounded, led by creamy vanilla malt. As it opens, the ex rum cask influence unfurls with notes of brown sugar, light molasses and a gentle tropical warmth. Creaming soda returns alongside vibrant lemon and orange oils, keeping everything beautifully balanced, while toffee adds depth and texture through the mid palate.
The finish is long, gentle and lightly spiced. Vanilla and toffee linger before easing into a refreshing citrus fade, finished with a final whisper of rum sweetness, a playful yet refined single malt best discovered in person at the cellar door.
